What It's About

Welcome to my blog! I ruminate on random thoughts rattling around in my brain. Subjects range from reality TV to current events and everything in between. Whether you agree with me or not, I welcome your comments. God gave you the ability to think for yourself, and this country was founded based on the right to have your own opinion. Who am I to question that? Hope you enjoy! And, if you like to shop on the internet, or have always wanted to try, please feel free to click on one of the banners on the left. Do admit I get a small commission for anything you buy through the links. Appreciate it if you do decide to buy something!

Haiti Earthquake Relief

(If you are interested in contributing to the Haiti relief fund, the easiest way is by texting 90999 ($10) or 501501 ($5).  If you are a little leary of doing that, here is the link to the Snopes.com confirmation that they are legit.)

Sure most of you have heard about the 7.0 earthquake in Haiti yesterday.  Such devastation.  Just saw one estimate that up to 500,000 may have died.  Always hard to make accurate predictions about that this early in the game.  But, pictures on various news sources have showed bodies being piled up in the streets so you know there are lots of casualties.  Obviously, thoughts and prayers are going out to the victims from all around the world.

When you think about it, it seems odd that these buildings have survived multiple Category 5 hurricanes, but were not able to survive an earthquake.  Just shows man cannot completely outsmart the Higher Force.

Speaking of that, saw where Pat Robertson has already come out saying this was punishment for a "pact with the Devil" Haitians made when they won their independence from France back in the early 1800's.  Not going to argue with Pat cuz it's up to the Higher Force to pass judgement on what he says.  Will say might have waited a little bit before he said it, though.

Anyway, there are multiple ways you can contribute, if you'd like.  Texted 90999 to donate $10 to the Red Cross myself.  It will be added to my monthly bill.  If you are interested but are a little leary of a possible scam, you can click on this link , which will take to the Snopes.com page confirming it's legit.  They also confirmed the Wyclef Jean fund (501501) to have $5 added to your bill if you prefer that.  Of course, prayers are always good, too.

May God provide comfort to those left behind in Haiti and to those outside of Haiti looking for loved ones.
